"The Skateroom brings art into your life and better possibilities into the lives of others around the world."
"As an artist from South Africa, I feel obliged, almost socially responsible, to work within my community, bring new ideas to the streets, share his stories with other societies of the world"
Art for Impact: we unite artists, museums, brands and non-profit organizations around the world in a new economic model.
The Skateroom believes that for-profit companies have a moral obligation to use their power for the greater good. With a growing environmental, humanitarian and economic crisis, the modern world needs sustainable solutions for doing business.
That's why we pay a lot of attention to sourcing our boards and strive to work exclusively with Grade A Maple from certified sustainable forests in Canada. In addition, our packaging is made from recycled materials and ancillary products are chosen to minimize the impact on the environment.
The Skateroom also offsets its CO2 emissions and proudly carries the CO2 neutral® label: we offset our full annual carbon footprint through the independent audit company CO2logic.
Finally, through our collaborations with committed artists, we dedicate up to 25% of every sale to support social skate projects around the world. Since 2014, The Skateroom's business model - Art for Social Impact - has raised USD 1 million in funding to empower at-risk youth in disadvantaged situations.
